A landscape that moves
What looks like solid ground in the dry season can be underwater by monsoon. Photographing chars means photographing a kind of resilience that most travelers never see - homes rebuilt annually, crops timed precisely around the water level.
Getting there
Chars are only reachable by small boat, and which ones are inhabited changes year to year, so this is not a trip to plan solo without local knowledge. It is, however, one of the most quietly striking regions in the entire country for anyone documenting river life.
